We’ve expanded our creative team to include some INCREDIBLE new talent, so this month we’re featuring one of our very own. We are thrilled to introduce you to Kate Slee! Kate has joined us to create new, innovative and fun workouts across all SH1FT Fitness formats. Kate was an International Presenter for Les Mills for 10 years - she presented at fitness events globally and trained hundreds of Instructors around the world. Kate has also recently launched her own fitness club ‘Origin Athletic’ - she’s a busy lady!

Kate knows how to programme a killer GX class and we are thrilled to have her on the team. Get excited because she’s got some AWESOME new workouts planned for you all in 2022.

Without further ado, meet Keet:

1. Tell us about yourself:

Hey I'm Kate! Fitness has always played a major part in my life. As a teenager, I played national level hockey and competed in athletics. I have a huge passion for helping other people realise they can do more than they thought possible, whether that's picking up a bar for the first time, doing their first push up on their toes or making it through a workout they never dreamed they'd be able to finish. I was an International Presenter for Les Mills for 10 years before creating our online training platform and opening our gym with my husband, Mark.  I competed at a variety of Crossfit Competitions globally before having my little boy just before lockdown!

2. Where/how do you teach?

I run the studios of the commercial gym next door to my gym that has recently taken on all of the SH1FT programmes!

3. What's your favourite thing about SH1FT?

It's simple, fun and has the best interests of the instructors at heart. SH1FT gives every instructor the opportunity to make the most of every class, deliver fantastic results to their participants, and be in complete control of how and when they teach.

4. What does 'fitness for life' mean to you?

Life changes. Abilities and circumstances also change. Fitness for life, to me, means doing the best you can with what you have today. That might mean today you have less energy and need to relax. It might mean going through big life changes and adapting to the new you, or it might mean achieving something you never thought possible.

5. What does diversity mean to you, and why is it important in fitness?

Every single person deserves to feel great about themselves and deserves to feel seen and represented. If the fitness industry became more diverse (there's a lot of work to do!) then I believe it would make a massive positive impact on so many people's lives.
