SH1FT Creative Team: Rhiannon Hacker

Today, we’re continuing our series featuring our awesome creative team. We’re so excited to introduce you to the one and only, Rhiannon Hacker.

Rhiannon has always had a love for movement. After graduating with a First class BA Hons in dance, she worked as a professional dancer for 10 years before moving into fitness. Since discovering her love for Group Fitness, Rhiannon has been teaching classes and working as a Master Trainer everywhere from boutiques to national gym chains across the UK.

Rhiannon brings a strong technical knowledge to the SH1FT creative team. Her focus on empowering individuals with the correct knowledge, support and skills perfectly compliments our ‘train smarter, not harder’ approach to programming.

Without further ado, meet Rhiannon:

1. Tell us about yourself:

Working as a professional dancer and performer for over 10 years, I have always held a passion for fitness and movement. Eight years ago, I took the leap to focus my career solely in the Fitness Industry and qualified as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, and I have never looked back.

2. Where/how do you teach?

Based in Bristol UK, I am lucky enough to deliver classes for both local independent clubs, as well as leading National Health and Fitness Groups. This allows me to teach multiple programs such as, HIIT, Strength, Spin, Aerobics, Yoga, Pilates, and Functional Fitness. I love being able to meet and work alongside so many different members across multiple platforms.

3. What's your favourite SH1FT workout or format?

SH1FT is my ultimate favourite. There is no feeling quite like giving your all in that moment. The energy of the class, the connection, and performance within the workout leaves me buzzing every single time.

4. What's your favourite thing about SH1FT?

I love the variety of SH1FT. The format is like no other program I have experienced before. Instructors have full control over class structure with the option to ‘mash up’ and create a cross format class, meaning no class is ever the same. Its fresh, inclusive and allows instructors freedom to teach what, how and where they want. For the first time a program has been created not only for its participants, but for its instructors, too.

5. What does ‘fitness for life’ mean to you?

Movement, for me, is medicine. I move, not only for my physical health, but for my mental health and happiness. Living a healthy and balanced lifestyle allows me to positively take on any challenges life throws at me.

5. What does diversity mean to you, and why is it important in fitness?

For me, fitness IS for everyone and not just for a particular size, shape, gender, or ability. Welcoming diversity and inclusiveness within the Fitness Industry allows us all to grow and learn. I strongly believe that by empowering individuals with the correct knowledge, support, skills, and guidance they can create happier and healthier lifestyles.
